I have started on a new adventure setting up my new  “quality” blog for the past two weeks.

This type of site is feature rich, with deep content that search engines and visitors respect and love.

As it is only two weeks old, it is still a small baby and has a long way to go.  In other words I have to keep learning and to work to put in a lot more ideas and content so that in the end I will succeed.

Step 3 - Content

There are many ways to get fresh, readable content for your blog.  I shall mention three of them here.

Write Your Own

If you are crazy like me, then writing your own content would be a great idea.  It is totally unique and it is 100% free!

I can tell you it is great fun and fulfulling.  That is only possible if you are interested in what you are writing about.

I can tell you it is not hard to write your own content.  You can comment about existing articles or just give your opinion about something.  You could even make a product or website review.

Just remember to add something of your own every few weeks.

Free Articles

You can post free articles on your blog by a wide range of authors.

They can be found in directories like:

www.ezinearticles.com

www.ideamarketers.com

You can reprint these articles as long as you keep the bio/resource box intact.  This usually has a link in it to the author’s site so the downside of using free articles is that you may be sending traffic to another source you don’t get paid for.

Many gurus think that outbound links are bad.  However, if you think that it can serve your readers and they will benefit from the article then it’s good to include it and you can easily add your comments in the post too.

Outsourcing

There are three main places you can go for hiring people to write content for you:

www.rentacoder.com

www.elance.com

www.guru.com

Rentacoder is the safest service because the worker doesn’t get paid until the work is complete and you’re happy with it.

To get good quality articles expect to pay around $5 per article.  That means it will cost you around $260 per year if you want to post one article a week with outsourced content.  If you have a few blogs that could add up to quite a sum of money. 

So only outsource if you don’t have time to use the other two methods or if your blog is a success, meaning it is helping you to make money, and you want to start adding an extra post every week.

Finally, when you bid for articles ensure that you give a detailed description of what you want done.  If you want a 500-word article, say so because a page to you is different to others who use larger fonts or double-line spacing instead of single-line spacing.

Summary

In summary, you should use all three methods above.  Your blog will seem more real and more balanced.

In Part 1 we saw Matt’s Personal History and Personal Development.  Here in Part 2 we shall look at The Pillars of Success University and Benchmarks for the Future.

Step 2 - Making A Blog

For your own Blog, I have found that WordPress is the easiest to optimize and there are also more useable plug-ins for WordPress than other Blogs.

What is WordPress? WordPress is a PHP/MySQL based blog you can use on your web site for blogging. To learn more about WordPress, visit http://wordpress.org/.

If this is your first time, don’t worry, I got to tell you that it is really simple.

Simply log in to your Hostmonster account and continue to your Control Panel.  Scroll down to the second last section.  Click on “Fantastico de Luxe.”

On the Left Side Bar you will see Blogs and under it you will see WordPress.  Just click “WordPress.” 

Click “New Installation.”

Installation

Note: Before you attempt to install the WordPress, make sure you read the License Terms shown on the page.

1. Set the following information: 

• Admin User - Enter the username you want to use for the administrator’s username.

• Admin Pass - Enter the password you want to use for the administrator’s password.

• Email - Enter the email address you want to use for the administrator’s contact information.

• Installation URL - Select the domain you want to install the WordPress on from the drop down menu. By default, the directory it will be installed in is pre-populated. You can change the directory to meet your specific needs.
  Most of us enter “/blog” as the directory.

• Table Prefix - The table prefix is used when the software creates a MySQL database. You can leave it as default or modify the table prefix according to your specific needs.

• MySQL DB - You can create a new database specifically for this installation or choose another database for this installation. Select which one you want to do from the drop down  menu.

2. Click on the “Install” button.

3. You should see the following statement:

“Done! You can access your new addon at URL_LOCATION”

Note: After you have successfully installed your script, the system will tell you how many you have installed on the main page of your cPaddons scripts listing page.

Managing

After you have installed WordPress on your account, it will show the version number you have installed.

1. Located to the right of the listed installation URL is a “Rearrange” link. If you click on the “Rearrange” link, it will allow you to move or copy the installation to another domain and directory of your choice.

2. To move or copy the installation, select the domain you want to install WordPress on from the drop down menu. By default, the directory it will be installed in is pre-populated. You can change the directory to meet your specific needs.

3. Click on either the “Move” or “Copy” radio button.

4. Next, click on the “Perform Move/Copy” button.

Uninstall

If you have installed WordPress on your account, you can uninstall the software at anytime.

1. Select the install you want to remove from the drop down menu.

2. Click on the “Uninstall” button.

See how easy it is to install or uninstall a WordPress blog? 

However, there’s more work to do on your blog, but for now it’s created and just look forward to the next step.

Also, we know that between two persons with the same strategies, it is the one who has the superior mindset, better communication and more motivated by an inner core desire who will have the greater chance to succeed.

I would like to start with an extract from Empower Magazine, referring to our Success University Founder and President Matt Morris who turned his life around through the power of personal development.  Here goes…

We all go to school for reading, writing and arithmetic, but the traditional education system never really teaches you how to succeed in life.

That was the case for Success University Founder and President Matt Morris.  When he walked out of a college classroom to pursue his entrepreneurial spirit, it landed him completely broke and on the streets.  But through the power of personal development, Matt found the key to success and, in turn, created one of the largest personal development companies in the world.

Matt entered the entreprenerial world at the age of 18.  By 21, he had failed in three business ventures and found himself homeless, living out of this car.  By age 24, after making a commitment to educate himself in personal development, he was earning a six-figure income in the network marketing industry and living a dream lifestyle.  Two years later he became the CEO of his own multimillion-dollar Internet marketing company.  Now, at 31, Matt is the Founder and President of Dallas-based Success University, an international direct marketing company that specializes in delivering personal development education.

Personal History

Matt’s journey to success began with two polar-opposite influences.  His mother, divorced and raising Matt on her own, sold the family restaurant to pursue her dream to becoming an attorney.  She worked two jobs to put herself through college and law school.  She became an attorney and eventually worked her way to the bench as a judge in Texas.

“My mother has always been my role model.  As a child I watched her go after her dreams despite a lot of challenges and hardships,” Matt says.  “She really is my hero.”

Matt’s father took a more troublesome path.  “When I was about 6 years old, I watched my father go to prison for murder.” he says.  “When he got out of prison he essentially drowned himself in alcohol.  When I was 13, he committed suicide.  While it’s something I don’t talk about very often, I never shy away from it because its part of my history.”

Years later, Matt was sitting in a business class at the University of Texas when he had an epiphany.  “I remember one day listening to a new professor who had a Ph.D. but had never actually been in the real business world,” Matt says.  “He was telling us that if you want a good job you need a degree.  But if you really want to move up the corporate ladder, you need a master’s degree or even better, a Ph.D.  I instantly realized that I had absolutely no desire whatsoever to have a job working for someone else.”

Matt’s foray into network marketing was difficult at first.  “After my first year and a half I enrolled only three people-two of whom I paid for myself,” Matt says with a laugh.  After failing in three network marketing companies, Matt was forced to take a job to make ends meet.  He answered an ad for a company that offered a travelling salesperson position selling above-ground swimming pools.

“I didn’t have enough money to pay rent and couldn’t make the minimum payments on my credit cards so I took the job, which landed me in Southern Louisiana,” Matt says.  “I couldn’t afford to stay in a motel, so I bathed at gas station bathrooms and slept in my little red Honda Civic five to six nights a week.  I’m 6 foot 3 and definitely did not fit comfortably in the car!” Matt says.

Personal Development

Living in a car, selling above-ground pools door-to-door was the point in Matt’s life where he felt he had hit rock bottom.  He was desperately seeking a way out of this situation when his answer came through the personal development industry.  “Late one night, I listened to a tape that told the story of a man who went from an average income to more than $1 million a year,” Matt says.  He attributed his success to two things: No. 1, immersing himself in the personal development industry; and No. 2, finding others who had achieved massive success, modeling them and creating the same results.

“I took that as a clue and made a commitment to do the same thing,” Matt says.  He started reading personal development books about eight hours a day, finishing a book every two or three days.  “I basically lived in bookstores,” he says.  “I spent every spare minute devouring books and audio programs.  That was the turning point for my life, where my life started to shift-I basically reinvented myself.  Within four years I was a top earner in a network marketing company, traveling around the world and earning a high-six-figure income.  I just kept studying ultra-successful people, learning and investing in my mind.  My philosophy is that if you invest in your mind, you’ll always get the biggest returns.”

Matt remembers attending a seminar where he heard speaker after speaker talk about empowering principles, mindsets and strategies.  “I remember being so filled up with inspiration and asking myself, ‘What if my father had been exposed to this kind of information?’  I believe he would be alive today,” Matt says.

Naturally, what sparked his interest in founding Success University was his success with personal development and the stories of countless others who have attributed their success to the personal development industry.  “Every long-standing network marketing company for the last 50 years has been built on the shoulders of personal development,” Matt says.  “It made sense for me to create a network marketing company with personal development as the product, because it’s something that almost every leader has promoted without earning an income from it.”

First thing I want to say about blogging is you must own your own blog because Blogger could delete blogs as and when they like because they hosted all these.

When you have your own blog you’re in total control of it.

That means you must have a domain name and a webhost.  An estimate of the cost for a domain name registration would be $10 yearly.  Webhosting would be about $6 monthly but many web hosts on the market today, offer pre-paid contracts in one or two year increments.

This is money well spent once you start making money with your blog or blogs.
